I grew up in the north at a time when many in my community were children and grandchildren of those that migrated from the south. We had very similar communities to those in the film. You had to be careful all the time because neighbors looked out for you and didn't hesitate to punish you if your parents weren't around. I had tears in my eyes because this film brought back good memories of when we did shop in stores run by African Americans and we had teachers, doctors, lawyers and other professionals living within our own communities. Thank you for making this film. I look forward to seeing more from you.
